You are like the stars
Ikko hopped into a train wagon pulling Bast in half tripping over her long legs trying to keep up. The train was stamped full of people, most of them on their way to the B’Haddu Desert hoping to join the Skyfire Festival. They were standing near the door and Ikko was moving around excitedly, ‘watch out!’ Bast grabbed Ikko’s tail and pulled it closer brushing the tuft with her paws, ‘wouldn't want to get it stuck in the train doors’. Ikko’s arms wrapped around her ‘you're the best’ she said smiling and enjoying Bast now stroking her head.
The train ride was a long one but while it moved across the different landscapes of Arez the view from the window was amazing to say the least.
‘Come on, come on we don't have an eternity’ Ikko had grabbed Bast's arm again as soon as the doors opened and sprinted outside towards the market stalls. ‘Well no not eternity but we do have more than enough time to see everything around here, the festival lasts more than a day’ Bast pulled Ikko into a hug while giving her a kiss on the cheek, ‘we can stay multiple days and do whatever you want, see the market, enjoy one of the bonfires, watch the stars and many more things!’.
The vast and colourful market was a sight to behold and they enjoyed every second of it. While looking at the stunning jewelry made from the Skyfire stones Bast spotted a beautiful but simple bracelet, ‘Hey Ikko’ Ikko looked up and tilted her head, ‘Could you go and grab us something to drink from that stall over there?’. Ikko looked a bit confused but shrugged and started skipping over to the busy juice stand.
‘There you are!’ Ikko handed Bast one of the drinks and pointed towards a big fountain, ‘Let’s sit over there!’. She pulled out a small bag, ‘these looked so delicious I couldn't leave them’ Ikko placed the Lucky Treats between them and smiled, ‘there might even be a price in them’. Bast took a sip from her drink and broke her Lucky Treat in half to get the piece of paper, losing ticket. Ikko looked sad and picked up her own, losing ticket, ‘oh well’ Bast ate the cookie and licked her mouth, ‘we may have lost the game, but we certainly won in love’. Ikko hugged her ‘plus these treats are super delicious!’ and they laughed.
They spend the evening sitting at one of the big bonfires and when the time to watch the stars arrived, the fires were put out. They slowly watched the night grow darker and the sky started to glow as the stars became visible. ‘These stars remind me of you’ Bast whispered into Ikko's ear, ‘They sparkle just like your fur and shine like your eyes’. Ikko blushed and put her head against Bast’s chest. ‘I got you something at the markets, something like these stars, something like you’ Bast took a small bag from her pouch and opened it, shaking the bracelet inside into her paw. ‘I love it!’ a tear rolled over Ikko’s face and Bast put the bracelet around her wrist.
