The sun beamed high over the horizon, casting golden flecks across the rolling waves of the Earle Sea. A soft breeze carried the scent of salt and seafoam, ruffling the fur of two Xeros as they padded onto the sun-warmed sand. Malour strutted ahead, her sleek coat shimmering in the sunlight, a wide-brimmed sunhat perched dramatically between her ears. Dawn balanced on a high branch, crouched with the grace of a playful predator. Below her, Malour was muttering to herself, trying to untangle the vine wrapped around her boot. The forest was thick with the smell of moss and earth, the sun slanting through the canopy in golden streams. It was the perfect setting for their mission to observe and assist the Koronoks, one of the rarest species in the Jurupa Forest. The day of the big anniversary celebration was finally here!  Dawn awoke early, well rested and bright eyed, and had herself a large breakfast.
